Duck & Waffle, London

Before heading to london, was asking Tass to recommend good places and this was her recommendation/ true enough it was really popular and raved about so we made a booking 3 months in advance for our last meal in London :-)

Located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the view is breathtaking! My dad said its an even better view than from the top of St Paul's Cathedral. :-)

Started off with this-
BBQ-spiced Crispy Pig Ears- £5
Sliced thinly, fried and seasoned, these pig ears were reallyyyy yummy even tho im not one to be particularly adventurous with food choices
Needless to say, dad loved this as did all of us- would highly recommend a portion to share!

Duck Egg en Cocotte- wild mushrooms/ gruyere/ truffle/ soldiers - £10
The baked egg was really nicely done with the molten yolk, truffle and cheese making a perfect dipping sauce for the soldiers. :) mushrooms added to the rustic-feel of the dish!

Steak n Eggs Benedict- braised ox cheek- charred sourdough/ hollandaise- £10
Eggs benedict but with ox cheek n duck egg! Didnt try this so im not sure how it fared.

Signature Duck n Waffle! Crispy leg confit/ fried duck egg/ mustard maple syrup- £17
Gta have the signature! Dad's order- the duck confit was extremely tender and moist, with the contrast of the sweet mustard maple on waffle nicely complementing the salty duck, allowing you to end the meal on a sweet note!
Helped myself to copious amounts of maple syrup :-)

Duck Egg in a Brioche Basket- Gruyere/ truffle/ watercress- £9
Slightly resembling a croque monsieur, this was a really fun dish with the middle f the bioche carved out, allowing the egg to run over it :-)

Overall definitely a place to check out if you're in london!
Heard they do nice dinner/lunch menus as well :-)
