Cali Cafe- One Rochester (Brunch!)

Had a $20 for $40 groupon for Cali Cafe, and rly wanted to spend time with the brother & Jac so we met up for brunch before cell on sat :-)

It's situated at One Rochester, a 5 min walk away from Buona Vista MRT station, making it really convenient to get to. Picked an outdoor seat because the weather was rly nice (so was the view!) although I didnt really catch any snapshots of that :)

Really missed those two, reminded me of the importance of carving time out because people matter. :)

Gid had the All Day Breakfast- 19.90 set! When it arrived he said that the plating had changed! (did not know he's been here twice before!) Thought the scrambled eggs resembled omelette abit more, so if you prefer your eggs runner it'd probably be good to let them know! I enjoyed the walnut bread as well :-)

Jac had the In Coming Burger With Cheese- 18.90. Am not a fan of beef in general, but tried some anyway! Her medium rare order was done really well, and the buns were well toasted :) We also really like the fries which were thick, chunky and crispy! (Like the Mos Burger ones but better :-))

Had the Smokin' Turkey & Mango Wrap- 16 myself :) it comes either in wrap form or sandwich form (on focaccia bread) so you can pick whichever you prefer! I loved the wrap! they were really generous with the turkey, and the salsa inside really complemented it. :) Came with nachos and guacamole which is always great :) It was reallyyyy filling!

Some pictures of the menu cos I couldnt find it online at all! Heard rave reviews of their All-day-breakfast pizza so we'll be back for that hopefully :)

They also serve a wide range of smoothies/ juices although they are on the pricy side!

Semi-shared a scoop of Ben & Jerry's (which is just next door!) after :) and headed off!
Total bill came up to 54 so I guess the 30 for 60 groupon might have been a better option :-)
But I had a lovely morning with them. Honest conversations are always :-)

Two Fifteen Kitchen- Sunday Brunch Set

Visited 2Fifteen Kitchen at One Rochester for Brunch on Sunday with the fam :)
Decided we all had to get the Brunch Sets- at $30/pax since it was really worth it- came with a drink, bread basket, appetiser, egg dish, main & dessert!

A pic of the place :) it was pretty nice and kinda swanky looking :)

this was my glass of apple juice!

Bread basket! With baguette & mini croissants.

the croissant was really really good, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside :)

Medley of Garden Mesclun- we were all raving about the presentation! The seasoning of the salad was done so well, the salad even had caramelised apples below that complemented it!

Warm Salad of Foie Gras with Grape Petite Salad! The sear on the foie gras was really good :)

Dad had the soup pot! Wasn't spectacular/fantastic would recommend the other appetisers :)

The Breakfast Egg! 62DegCelsius Egg with Salmon Roe and Roasted Tomato. This was so so good! Esp with the toast :) Reminded us abit of soft boiled eggs and toast!

Onto the mains!
This was the Grilled Lamb T-Bone. Although I'm not much of a lamb fan I really enjoyed this! The lamb was tender/cooked very well :)

I had the Crabmeat & Pumpkin Macaroni & Cheese! Was slightly disappointed that there weren't pieces of pumpkin like I expected, but instead just pumpkin infused/flavoured sauce. There were crab bits here and there (not v much!) but I still enjoyed the dish on the whole :) Wasn't gelat like most other cream-based dishes!

This was the Pan-Seared Pork Collar with Caramelised Apple & Pasta!
I think this was our least favourite dish on the whole. Pork was slightly tough, and tasted porky, and the pasta wasn't outstanding either.

Desserts on the other hand were all really good :)
This was the Crepe Suzette with Grand Marnier Orange Sauce.

Creme Brûlée! The plates were all sooo pretty!

Had two huge scoops of yam & coconut ice-cream which I loved :) They even had toasted coconut/love-letter like biscuits sprinkled all over!

Seasonal dessert was a cheesecake with coconut icecream :)

On the whole it was a lovely brunch! Super worth the price, with great ambience :)
Will be back (hopefully!)

Duck & Waffle, London

Before heading to london, was asking Tass to recommend good places and this was her recommendation/ true enough it was really popular and raved about so we made a booking 3 months in advance for our last meal in London :-)

Located on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, the view is breathtaking! My dad said its an even better view than from the top of St Paul's Cathedral. :-)

Started off with this-
BBQ-spiced Crispy Pig Ears- £5
Sliced thinly, fried and seasoned, these pig ears were reallyyyy yummy even tho im not one to be particularly adventurous with food choices
Needless to say, dad loved this as did all of us- would highly recommend a portion to share!

Duck Egg en Cocotte- wild mushrooms/ gruyere/ truffle/ soldiers - £10
The baked egg was really nicely done with the molten yolk, truffle and cheese making a perfect dipping sauce for the soldiers. :) mushrooms added to the rustic-feel of the dish!

Steak n Eggs Benedict- braised ox cheek- charred sourdough/ hollandaise- £10
Eggs benedict but with ox cheek n duck egg! Didnt try this so im not sure how it fared.

Signature Duck n Waffle! Crispy leg confit/ fried duck egg/ mustard maple syrup- £17
Gta have the signature! Dad's order- the duck confit was extremely tender and moist, with the contrast of the sweet mustard maple on waffle nicely complementing the salty duck, allowing you to end the meal on a sweet note!
Helped myself to copious amounts of maple syrup :-)

Duck Egg in a Brioche Basket- Gruyere/ truffle/ watercress- £9
Slightly resembling a croque monsieur, this was a really fun dish with the middle f the bioche carved out, allowing the egg to run over it :-)

Overall definitely a place to check out if you're in london!
Heard they do nice dinner/lunch menus as well :-)
