It was a friend's birthday and it was a unanimous decision to have Asian food! (again!) So we chose Oriental Spoon after hearing so much about their good deals and yummy casseroles.
It was a Saturday evening and we forgot to make an appointment. When we reached and saw the crowd we were worried we had to change the destination! Thankfully it was only a short 10min wait for a table for 4.
We ordered a Beef and Mushroom Casserole and it turned out to be such a delight! There were heaps of mushroom (shiitake, enoki, and something I can't recognise), vegetables (zucchini, spring onions, lettuce and onions) and beef!
Turn up the heat and mix them all up into a pot of delicious goodness! The only complaint would be that it doesn't come with rice so you have to order it separately. Let the rice soak up the soup and pair it with some piping hot mushrooms! Writing this is making me crave for it again..
We also ordered another side - Beef Bulgogi that was served on a bed of beansprouts on a hotplate. Nothing exceptional, just another dish to pair with your carbs.
Oriental Spoon serves a mix of Japanese and Korean dishes. They do serve Korean BBQ too but they are definitely known for their casseroles. Their lunch deals look pretty good as well so I will definitely be back for more!
We visited the restaurant a week back so pardon me for the lack of prices! But these 2 dishes and 3 bowls of rice shared among the 4 of us turned out to be AUD$15 per pax. Pretty good deal, I would say!
